Scrum Master (d/f/m)

Stockerau/Wien, Niederösterreich, AustriaUntis GmbH

Here’s what we’re looking for

As a Scrum Master (d/f/m) you work in a cross-functional agile team on a scalable web or Windows application that helps many schools around the world to manage their school day. You put your expertise to work for a good cause that benefits millions of people in the education industry. When conflicts arise, you provide advice and support, building a trusting and safe environment where issues can be addressed without fear of blame or judgement, leading to quick problem-solving. You are also a coach and mentor, all around agile standards and best practices. In addition to facilitating agile ceremonies, you enable the team to explore different agile approaches and foster autonomy and self-organization within the team and beyond. Furthermore, you will help product owners with work and backlog maintenance and learn together with your team and within your community of practice.

For us, agility means a continuous learning journey. We are not tied to any particular frameworks. We currently work with a flow-oriented approach, but we are open to a wide variety of practices that help us get better. No, we don't do Scrum by the book - but we are very aware of the consequences and know why we made this choice. We offer you the opportunity to actively shape your environment and the ways of working of your colleagues and the entire organization including home office.

We practice open communication, are proud of our products, but also do not hide our current weak points. Here are a couple of points you should know about us:

  • We have a 10+ year old web application and a 35+ year old Windows application, and you will have to manage some remaining legacy issues. A focus is currently on reducing technical debt and accelerating our development, while maintaining quality.
  • We are also developing one of the most successful native mobile applications for iOS and Android, in the school organization sector.
  • We have ambitious goals and need your help to achieve them together as a team. In some areas of cooperation, be it communication, processes or structures, we have not yet reached the level where we would like to be, but we are already on a very good path.

Essential skills for your mission

  • First and foremost, we are looking for smart people who enjoy their work and are a pleasure to work with.
  • Hands-on experience with Lean, Kanban, flow metrics, and related topics or willingness to learn is a plus.
  • Practical experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in a product development environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of agile processes and principles
  • Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills and therefore a growth-oriented mindset
  • "Agile" is more than just a buzzword for you
  • Change is a natural part of life for you
  • Good verbal and written communication in German and English. We offer additional support in learning the German language.
  • Good problem solving skills and attention to detail

Interested? Great. For this position we offer a market-oriented salary range between 3.450 Euro and 5.000 Euro gross per month (38.5h/week and no all-in) in our team. Depending on your qualifications and professional experience.
