Senior Agile Mobile Software Engineer (Android) (d/f/m)

As a Senior Mobile Software Engineer (Android) you work in a cross-functional agile team on a scalable Android application that helps many schools around the world to manage their school day. You develop great product features in modern programming languages and collaborate with other teams and colleagues. You also put your expertise to work for a good cause that benefits millions of people in the education industry. You learn together with your team and within your Community of Practice.

We practice an open communication, are proud of our products, but also do not hide our current weak points:

• We have a 10+ year old web application and a 35+ year old Windows application, and you will have to manage some remaining legacy issues. A focus is currently on reducing technical debt and accelerating our development, while maintaining quality.

• We are also developing one of the most successful native mobile application for iOS and Android, in the school organization sector.

• We have ambitious goals and need your help to achieve them together as a team. In some areas of cooperation, be it communication, processes or structures, we have not yet reached the level where we would like to be, but we are already on a very good path.

Salary

For this position we offer a market-oriented salary range between 48,000 Euro and 75,000 Euro gross per year (38.5h/week and no all-in) in our team. Depending on your qualifications and professional experience, you will decide on your salary together with the team.

• You have at least 3 years of experience in the professional development and maintenance of native Android apps (Java, Kotlin)

• Knowledge about Compose and Android Views is a must

• Experience with REST/SOAP services in a microservice context

• Experience in writing and maintaining unit tests is mandatory

• Experience with test automation for mobile applications is a plus

• Practical experience with DevOps principles and tools such as CI/CD is a plus

• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Good verbal and written communication in German and/or English. We offer additional support in learning the German language.

• Knowledge of agile processes and principles as well as practical experience with agile development methods

• Practical experience with the implementation of software solutions

• Know-how about Android ecosystem, TDD, design patterns and clean code approaches ensuring high-quality and maintainable code
